The goal is to help students become fluent in the culture, not just the language, so they can create meaningful connections with native Spanish-speakers.

Who are you?

¡Hola! My name is Inés Ramos. I’m a native Spaniard from Madrid, teacher, writer, and arts-and-history nerd.
I’ve been teaching languages for 11 years, and I now work as a Spanish language & culture coach online.
I believe than fun and creativity are the best ways to learn a language, so I create my own materials from scratch to help my students learn Spanish creatively.
I love helping my students improve their Spanish while they learn more about my country’s beautiful, rich culture.
You can learn more about me on my About page.

What services do you offer?

I offer a wide range of options to help you improve your Spanish, from 1:1 lessons to work-at-your-own-pace creative programs.
Please go to Learn with Me to find out more about what I offer.

What level do I need to work with you?

This depends on the program.
Journey to Spain and 1:1 Spanish Conversation are designed for intermediate to advanced students of Spanish (B1-C2).
The Travel Spanish program is for beginners who speak none or little Spanish.
Grammar lessons are available to everyone, regardless of their level.

How do I book a session with you?

You can book directly from my website.
Go to the page of the lesson/program you want to book, and click on the red buttons. That’ll open my calendar, where you can book a session with me.
On most of my programs, you have the option to book a free first session.

Where will our sessions take place?

Our lessons will take place via Zoom videoconference, and we’ll use Google Docs as an interactive online whiteboard that we both can write on.
During the session, we’ll use Zoom to see and hear each other. Zoom also allows us to upload images and worksheets to use during the lesson, to share screens and to remotely control each other’s cursors.
The materials we use and the notes we create together during the sessions will be available to you 24/7 on Google Drive, so you can go back to them anytime for personal study.

Attending an online lesson is really easy. All you need is access to a computer, high-speed internet and a webcam. That’s it! I recommend that you also use headphones during the session to reduce background noise, and you may want to use a microphone to ensure I can hear you well, although this is usually not necessary.

How do I join our session?

When you book a session with me through my calendar, you’ll automatically receive an email with information on how to join our session. This will be a link to a Zoom meeting room.
When it’s time for our lesson, all you have to do is click on that link, and it will open the Zoom meeting room where I’ll be waiting for you.
If this is your first time using Zoom, it’ll prompt you to download a small software necessary to use Zoom from your computer or mobile device. It should take only a couple of minutes, and you’ll be joining me live.

When do you teach?

My Journey to Spain creative program has an asynchronous option, which means you can work on it at your own pace, without schedules.
For all other programs, I work with students between 10am and 8pm, Central Standard Time (GMT: -5), Monday through Friday.
Check my calendar for available hours.

Do you give lessons in person?

Not anymore. I work with students exclusively online.
Online lessons work just as well, if not better, than in-person lessons. By working online we have instant access to a lot of tools and information that make the process of learning easier and faster—not to mention the time and money you save on trips, and the convenience of taking lessons from the comfort of your own home or office!

What if I'm not interested in Spain?

My programs Journey to Spain, Spanish Conversation & Culture, and Travel Spanish are designed for people who live in, travel frequently to, or are fascinated by Spain. So if you’re not interested in learning more about Spain and its culture, these are probably not for you.
However, my Coffee Breaks and Grammar lessons are not focused on Spanish culture, so you can join these regardless of your interest in Spain (or lack thereof).

How long will it take me to reach my language goals?

That depends on a lot of factors, ranging from how much time and effort you dedicate to learning Spanish to your own abilities and motivation.
Each student is different, so I can’t know exactly how long it’ll take you to reach your goals.

Working one-on-one with me has many benefits, and it will undoubtedly speed up your learning process.
Book a free consultation with me, and we’ll figure out together what’s the program that better fits your needs.

How do pricing and payments work?

You can find that information on the specific page for each program.

What's your cancellation policy?

Please go to Terms & Conditions. That information is under Payments, cancellations & refunds.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes! I offer a free 20-minute consultation—no strings attached—to anyone interested in working with me.
During this free session, we’ll discuss your goals and expectations, you’ll get to know more about me and my programs, and you’ll get a taste of what working together would be like.
A free consultation gives us both the opportunity to meet prior to working together—making sure we’re a good fit, and gives me the information I need to ensure the program you’re interested in is right for you.

Why should I pick you? There are many Spanish teachers out there.

Excellent question!
You should pick me because:
1) you’ll be working with a certified, professional Spanish private teacher with 11 years of experience who is passionate about her job (me!);
2) she’ll plan and customize each 1:1 session with you in mind, and she’ll be doing her absolute best to make sure you’re getting the most out of your experience;
3) you’ll be getting high-quality lessons and programs that are creative and dynamic, so you can learn faster, easily and more efficiently.
4) your teacher creates all her Spanish culture programs and materials from scratch, so you can’t find these anywhere else.
Teaching Spanish is my main source of income (not something I do for extra cash), so, while I love my job and have tons of fun teaching, I also take it very seriously and do my best to provide a quality service that keeps my clients happy.
My rates reflect my experience and the quality of service you’ll receive. There are cheaper teachers out there, but keep in mind that results tend to be directly correlated to how much time and money you invest in an experience. I provide great value to my students, so my programs are for those of you who are ready to invest in themselves and their Spanish-learning journey.

Do you have any freebies?

Yes! You can find a lot of information about Spain, in Spanish, on my blog. It’ll help you improve your reading comprehension and learn new vocabulary.

Coming soon! Starting in September 2019, I’ll be running a podcast about all things Spain, along with two other teachers.
